UIL Information for Students and Parents

When: Wednesday, April 19, 2017
Where: Champion High School
Dress: Uniforms – cleaned and pressed and on a hanger 

  1. All students need to bring their uniform to the small band hall no later than 8:30 am on the morning of UIL. Please have it on a hanger, with your name, and all of your accessories with it. Boys – Cummerbunds and Bow ties will be in the small band hall if you do not have yours in your tux. BLACK socks and shoes. NO tennis shoes.
    Girls – Pearls will be there in the small band hall. No heels higher than 3 inches, and black shoes
  2. Students need to bring a lunch to eat on campus that day. The choir room will be the UIL Warm-Up room, so they will need to eat in the cafeteria or outside. I would prefer no senior go off campus that day.
  3. The schedule is as follows.  Parents, you can come and listen to our choirs. You must first check in to the office, showing your ID and wear a visitor’s badge.  Give yourself time to park and do this as once the choir starts singing, no one will be admitted into the auditorium.

    Varsity Men:

    Warm-Up 12:50
    Concert: 1:15
    Sight-Reading: immediately after concert

    Men – you need to come to the small band hall and get dressed at 12:20 then report to the hallway by the dance studio for roll.  After we sight-read, you may go and change clothes.

    Varsity Women:

    Warm-Up 2:50
    Concert – 3:15
    Sight-Reading: immediately after concert

    Women- You need to go to the small band hall at 2:20 to get dresses. NO PERFUME OR HAIRSPRAY PLEASE.   Be in the hallway by the dance studio by 2:45.

    Mixed Varsity:

    Warm-Up 5:40
    Concert – 6:05
    Sight-Reading – immediately after the concert

    Mixed – you need to be dressed and in the hallway by the dance studio no later than 5:30.

    Men – please go to the restrooms up by the cafeteria to change. Ladies, you may use the small band hall.
  4. Longhorn CafĂ© – the Boosters are rewarding the students with a dinner at Longhorn starting at 7:30. They need to provide their own transportation to and from there.
  5. Parents, if any of you want to help that day, please email me at mary.hill@boerne-isd.net. I will need you to fill out a background check for that day. 
Beginning on April 21st, students may begin bringing their uniforms for check-in.  They must be clean. Tuxes and dresses are washable.  

We are going to do our best on UIL day!
